Gozo

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things”

Henry Miller

Gozo, the island of Joy!

Yes, Gozo is a small island in the middle of the Mediterranean and yes, most visitors who come just for one day always regret it. Malta’s little sister has so much more to see and do than you think. Best known for its natural beauty, historical significance and gracious hospitality, Gozo has thousands of places to explore and is one of Europe’s top destinations to learn English.

Films like “Clash of the Titans” and “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”, and TV shows like “Game of Thrones” or “The Odyssey” are set here, so some of the spots you will see might be familiar to you. You just need to take a walk around the cliffs at Ta Cenc, Dwejra, the window at Wied il Mielah, or the stunning Citadella to realize why the island is one of the top destinations for filmmakers.

If you are looking into practising some of your favourite sports during your holiday like diving or climbing, Gozo is also the right place for you; the island is considered the 2nd best destination in the world for diving.

When it comes to history and culture Gozo offers a huge variety of things to do. Ggantija temple is the second oldest man-made structure in the world, it is over 5,500 years old. Quite more recent, but no less impressive are Ta Pinu or any of the numerous churches and paintings you can find all over the island. And of course, if you like literature, visiting Calypso cave, thought to be the cave where Homer was kept by Calypso in The Odyssey is a must.

Last but not least, Gozo counts with all kind of restaurants and bars and activities, from summer music festivals to the vibrant nights of Marsalforn or Mgarr, you can find the perfect place to have a delicious meal, or enjoy drinks and music.
