Gozo, the island of Joy!
Why is that? Gozo in Spanish means joy. Its name was given by the Aragonese when they possessed the island in 1282 and nobody has ever changed it since. That is because, as we dare to guess, the name simply suits the land.
Yes, Gozo is a small island in the middle of the Mediterranean and yes, most visitors who come for just one day always regret it. Malta’s little sister has so much more to see and do than you think. Best known for its natural beauty, historical significance and gracious hospitality, Gozo has thousands of places to explore and is one of Europe’s top destinations to learn English.
Films like “Clash of the Titans” and “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”, and TV shows like “Game of Thrones” or “The Odyssey” are set here, so some of the spots you will see might be familiar to you. You just need to take a walk around the cliffs at Ta Cenc, Dwejra, the window at Wied il Mielah, or the stunning Citadella to realize why the island is one of the top destinations for filmmakers.
